Nanny Care - Goat Milk

NANNYcare Goat Milk Based Growing-Up Milk is a specially formulated goat milk drink fortified with essential nutrients to meet the nutritional needs of toddlers and young children from the ages of 1 to 3. Toddlers and young children can lead very active lifestyles alongside their continued rapid growth and development, which needs to be supported with a healthy, balanced diet.  The New Zealand goats that provide the milk are grass-fed in lush green pastures and raised without the use of stimulants, hormones or growth enhancing drugs in their diet in comparison to grain fed animals. This provides a natural, clean milk that is fortified with essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals including iron, folic acid, vitamins A, C and D. The NANNYcare Growing Up Milk is a wholesome powder with vitamin and mineral levels that exceed normal milk's, that can be mixed into a satisfying drink to support the nutrition of even the fussiest eater meaning that your child gets what they need to reach their potential. The Growing-Up Milk provides significant nutritional benefits to children over the usual cow or goat milk available, with it's rich source of calcium, iron and Vitamin C and D whilst also being easier on delicate tummies with it's unique protein profile that offers softer, smaller curds for smoother digestion. Goat milk protein has a few immunological similarities to the protein found in cow's milk but it is certain physical characteristics that make it stand out; it is the softer, smaller curds that form in the stomach once the milk is digested that make it more quickly and easily digested whilst the medium-chain fatty acids that are more readily absorbed in to the digestive system. The fat droplets in the milk are much smaller also which aids digestion. The growing up milk for toddlers also features iron and Vitamin C to promote absorption of iron that ordinary milk can not; this is very important for young children and toddlers to ensure their iron levels are stable to support brain developments, vitality and optimal growth. The formula is also naturally high in calcium with added calcium and Vitamin D to support strong bones and teeth but is also naturally lower in sodium and saturated fat than whole milk.

Goat milk is fast becoming the UK's fastest growing dairy product as consumers and becoming more educated and aware of the benefits of goat milk and goat milk products. Goats are very particular animals and very fussy about what they eat refusing unnatural and poor quality food. Goat milk is naturally higher in important minerals including zinc, iron, calcium and selenium in comparison to cow's milk which is ideal for babies, toddlers and young children who are at risk of developing iron and zinc deficiencies. Regular digestion of goat milk also helps increase iron levels in adults and combats bone demineralisation (softening of the bones).

NANNYcare Goat Milk based products have a low carbon footprint making them environmentally friendly in comparison to extensively farmed dairy products from the UK. NANNYcare is shipped in to the UK by sea freight to further reduce it's impact on the environment.

NANNYcare Growing-Up Milk is to be used as part of a balanced and varied diet, not as breast-milk substitution. To promote positive oral health use a cup, not bottle, where possible. Ensure teeth are brushed after the last feed. Supervise your child when they are eating and drinking.

Goat Milk vs Cow Milk

  • Nutrient content of goat milk is slightly less than cow milk but goat milk is more digestible because the fat molecules are one-fifth the size of those from cow milk -- making it easily tolerated by those with compromised digestive systems.
  • Seventy-two percent of the milk used throughout the world is from goats. It is one-third richer than cow’s milk but more nourishing and easier to digest.
  • The flavor of goat milk is comparable to that of cow milk. Goat milk has a milder taste.
  • Goat milk has no cream separation because of smaller fat molecules.
  • Allergy to cow's milk has been found in many people with conditions such as recurrent ear infections, asthma, eczema, and even rheumatoid arthritis. Replacing cow's milk with goat's milk may help to reduce some of the symptoms of these conditions.
  • Goat milk contains pre-formed Vitamin A in the milk fat that allows it to be readily available for use by the body. Researchers have found this to have cancer-preventing properties.
  • Goats milk contains more highly evolved cholesterol than cows milk, making it more available for absorption to the brain and body. (Cholesterol is essential to the health of the myelin sheaths "white matter" of the nerves in the brain.)
  • Goat milk is closer to human milk and is therefore easily accepted especially by those young or frail.
  • Goat milk has an alkaline reaction the same as mother's milk. Cow milk has an acid reaction
  • Goat milk does not form mucous (phlegm) and is therefore better tolerated by asthmatics and those with allergies.
  • Goat milk contains more chlorine, fluorine and silicon than any other domestic livestock. Chlorine and fluorine are natural germicides and fluorine assists in preventing diabetes.
  • Goat milk contains 2% curd, which precipitates in the stomach. Cows milk is 10% curd.
  • Goats are naturally immune to diseases, such as tuberculosis, and are used in third-world countries to actually cure tuberculosis because of their inherent antibodies.
  • Goats milk is tolerated by a compromised /damaged liver because of the smaller fat molecules and it's naturally homogenized.
  • Goats milk has the ability to "sweeten" the intestinal tract and assist with constipation.
