Kabrita - Goat Milk - Toddler Milk

Breastfeeding is the most suitable feeding for your baby. After the first birthday your child is not a baby anymore, he or she is now a toddler. Your child is much more active, will try to stand or may even be able to walk. In this active growing stage your child needs healthy and balanced nutrition. Kabrita Follow-on formula is suitable starting at 12 months of age and is part of a balanced diet.

The unique character of goat milk

We don't have to add a thing: the goat milk used as the basis for all our products is naturally brimming with a host of characteristics that make it a gentle and nutritious alternative. Full-fat goat milk is relatively easy for the body to break down and digest. The fat consists of smaller fat globules and relatively high amounts of short- and medium-chain fatty acids. In addition, the relatively low amount of αs1-casein protein helps to form a softer curd in the stomach that passes through the digestive system more easily.

Goat milk contains high levels of important nutrients, including vitamins (A, B2 and C), minerals (calcium, phosphorous) and proteins. The fatty acid composition of goat milk is also slightly different to that of cow milk. The amount of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid is no less than twice as high as in cow milk. As our body is unable to manufacture these fats itself, they are called essential fatty acids.

Kabrita goats

If you pay a visit to one of Kabrita goat farms in the Netherlands, you will be greeted by the bleating of the white Saanen goat. More than 90% of the goats in the herds are Saanen goats. They didn't select this breed just because they are so beautiful (although their looks did help a little!), but because they produce very good and tasty milk.

They are so passionate about these goats, they even called their brand after them. Kabrita is derived from the Spanish word for little goat or kid, Cabrita. And just to emphasise how much they love our favourite animal, they used the goat as their logo.

They are the only producers of 100% Dutch goat milk in the world - something they are very proud of! Dutch goat milk is renowned for its high quality and mild flavour. Becoming a Kabrita goat farmer is not easy: They only want to offer their customers the very best and therefore place very high demands on their farmers.

The goat milk is supplied by a select group of 55 Dutch goat farmers, who have fully committed themselves to Kabrita high quality standards. They are members of the NGZO (the Dutch Goat Milk Dairy Association) and support the ‘KwaliGeit’ (‘Quali-Goat’) quality assurance system. This ensures that their farmers give their animals the very best care and respect their environment. All their farmers are under the obligation to join the system and comply with the relevant guidelines and legislation.
