Nordic Naturals - Omega-3 Pet for Cats and Small Breed Dogs

Nordic Naturals has updated our Omega-3 Pet™ product labels (90 count soft gels and 180 count soft gels).

Nordic Naturals has removed the cat feeding directions, as well as the cat imagery from the Omega-3 Pet product labels. This product is now intended for dogs only. For cats, please use our Omega-3 Pet, 2 fluid ounce product. This product includes a calibrated dropper for ease of use and accuracy of feeding your cat.

Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet Soft Gels product is also an excellent source of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. It is an important supplement to help support optimal pet health. This product is offered in convenient soft gelatin capsules for home use and traveling with your pet companion.

Our Omega-3 Pet Soft Gels oil is derived exclusively from wild anchovies and sardines sustainably sourced from the South Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS

Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are important fatty acids for humans and their dog and cat companions because they cannot be made in the body. The only source of EPA and DHA for these species is through the diet and/or supplementation. Daily supplementation with Omega-3 Fatty Acids helps support optimal health for your pet companion.

EPA and DHA are necessary structural components of cell membranes. These omega-3 fatty acids maintain the cell membrane fluidity and permeability needed for healthy, functioning cells.

EPA and DHA are found abundantly in cold-water fish. Flax seed oil contains ALA, another omega-3 fatty acid that requires the body to first convert ALA to EPA and DHA before utilization. Humans and dogs have limited ability to make this conversion, while cats have even less ability to make this conversion. Therefore, supplementation with high-quality omega-3 fish oil is recommended for humans, dogs and cats.

The omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) found in fish oil support:

Suggested Use:

1 soft gel = 1500 mg / 1 soft gel contains 1000 mg fish oil

Suggested daily use for dogs:
Use one soft gel for every 20 lbs. of body weight.
1 soft gel contains 165 mg EPA / 105 mg DHA / 330 mg total omega-3 fatty acids.

Larger dogs:
add soft gel to food.

Smaller dogs:
puncture soft gel, and apply oil directly onto food, or serve by itself.

Do not exceed the suggested daily use without consulting your veterinarian.
